A project by Andrei Loginov and Caroline Siegers
CONCEPT
The artist Andrei Loginov captures the ephemere in three-dimen- sional images. Talking to me about the question how music could be condensed in a picure, we developed the idea to visualise the ballistics of the violin bow.
This makes it possible to receive VISUAL SIGNATURES from past times. For this purpose, the project uses a selection of musical ex- cerpts from four centuries.
The illuminated bow is photographed using lenticular photography, the sound is recorded. In the lenticular print, a three-dimensional effect is achieved. The recorded audio can be retrieved via QR-Code, or alternatively be installed together with the image, if the surroundings allow to do so.
This way, a musical fragment is transformed into a sculpture of light and sound.
