TRIPLETTE (2015)

Caroline Siegers, punchcard triplet

The triplet was designed as a motor driven punchcard DJ set in collaboration with Milan Siegers. The purpose is to play several punchcards at the same time, loop them and have hands free for other instruments. It premiered at the occasion of Büchner’s Leonce und Lena, Theater Koblenz, directed by Matthias Schönfeldt.

PINK ELEKTRON (2014)

Wabe, 30. Oktober 2014

The original Pink Elektron project is a mission to outer space started by Susanne Paul and me in 2014. We unpacked all our guitar effects, played our string instruments into loop stations, and added some distorted music box phrases and weird samples – while traveling to the remotest places of the universe.

TROMBONE UNIT (2013)

Trombone unit playing Osteoblast by Derek Bourgois, a (playback) production realized with Volker Striemer.

LACHENMANN QUARTETTE (2008)

Helmut Lachenmann (geb. 1935): Streichquartette Nr.2 & 3, Super Audio CD

This is an SACD stadler quartett recorded in 2007/08.

Along with the audio production, we did an interview about the fascinating musical language Helmut Lachenmann developed: Lachenmann playing techniques.

SONAR KOLLEKTIV ORCHESTER (2007)

I had the pleasure of playing violin in the legendary SONAR KOLLEKTIV ORCHESTER. The concept was to present electronic music with an acoustic big band. Apart from performing in Berlin, the orchestra traveled to Warsaw, Milano and Hamburg and recorded a wonderful CD, featuring artists like Clara Hill, Jazzanova, Thief and Meitz.

Different Trains by Steve Reich (2005)

played by Quatuor Bozzini.

The work consists of a prerecorded tape assembled from the voices of various people reminiscing about the Holocaust, sounds of American and European trains from the ‘30s and ‘40s, and three different string quartets. In addition to the tape is a fourth string quartet part for a live quartet. Bozzini Quartet did its very own recording of the three taped string quartets, a first ever since the premiere 1988 recording of the work, by the Kronos Quartet. I did the montage of this production for my producer/engineer colleage Peter Hecker.

Babe Of Plenty (2000)

Babe Of Plenty is a cartoon series Karoline, Til and I developed shortly after college. Supposed to be a good night tv series for adults, it never actually made it into any TV channel. Nevertheless, here are some remains of the series:

Lieschens Sonntag and Rien ne va plus, our first attempts to make animated film using Photoshop. Don’t ask me why they do not have the same size.
